There are some really wonderful items in the packages that went to Miamisburg yesterday from Don's collection. Many antique and vintage items all boxed up and ready for new homes. Mailman and I are planning to bring a second shipment with us when we travel to the festival. It should be a pretty impressive display.

We did not empty Don Olney's place yesterday, but we moved enough stuff to verify that the floor is, indeed, carpeted.   ;)

You'll not want to miss checking this stuff out in Miamisburg this year....

In recent years, butterfingers and I have arrived on Friday afternoon at the University of Cincinnati to enjoy the tour of the facilities with John Marcus, and see how he produces his amazing spin tops.

I've not heard specifically that this is the plan this year, but I imagine it will be.  If you have never done the tour (and, even if you have), it's a "must do".  John only sells his tops in person, and that's an opportunity you won't want to miss.

Has anyone heard from John about this for this year?

I've done the tour at least three times, now, and I still learn something new each time.  I should get in touch with John, and make sure it's "on" for this year....

I plan to go Sunday to John's place if he is available. So do Dale and Val.

I guess this trip will be more expensive than I thought ::)

I was hoping to go to Cincinnati on Friday, but I'm stuck on a federal jury and may be quite late getting to Miamisburg Friday night.  So, I guess we will tour JohnM's on Sunday if that's an option.  It would be on the way home for us, anyway.  Will we have time to go to church at St Jacob's before the tour?

John is currently out of town this week, visiting with his Dad back home.
I'm sure he'll reply to you guys when he returns to Cincinnati and has internet capability once again.

I have been unpacking some of Don's odds and ends and setting up the displays in my office.  It is pretty cool to walk in there and be hit with a wall of tops.  One display is a board of 18 Duncan bearing  kings.  Another is a board of 24 Imperials.  These will be easy to move into our fellowship hall to add color for our fest.

The weather on my phone just came up for the 25th and it says clear with a high of 81.  Looking good so far!!!

It has been a good day as I walk around town giving out finger spinners and talk about the upcoming festival.  I have been showing off one of our special Miamisburg tops with stars made by Don.  I hope he is reading this because everyone is super impressed with it.  I have enough for forum members who attend and a few more for special guests......like the mayor.

Unfortunately, I have a conflict and will be unable to attend the Miamisburg event. I'm disappointed. I'd like to see everyone and the competition, not to mention throw tops non-stop.

Miamisburg 2019 or bust.
