
I've abandoned the traditional crown shape since I prefer to snap (roll?) start anything bigger than 3" diameter. It can still be boomeranged without a crown of course.

Interesting to compare the two, Mike! Nimbus is made of PVC planks. The blue foam here is 2" thick rigid foam building insulation, a much lighter material. This 10" diameter top weighs 2.21 lbs, or 1.002 kg. Nimbus is a 7" diameter top, and weighs 1.6 lbs, or .717 kg. Nimbus has a delrin one-way-bearing assembly at the bottom that is kinda heavy, the 10" top has a 1" thick weight ring on top that is kinda heavy.the Earl of Whirl wrote: Isn't this something like what you made for a top that was part of a raffle on this forum?
