Hello folks,
Currently I am practicing in my garden.  Im hooked with my gift from Chris Neff, a spin top with a bearing tip   :D
I already can land a boomerang with it!
Also my Neptuno is amazing!  Can't wait till I get boomerang right  , every time. I must note that I did not practice for a few days,  and I have to re-learn it a bit.
I have 3 favorite tops . My Neptuno,  the Saturno Xtreme I got from Larry D,  and the bearing top from Neff  :)
With these I practice outside on the grass.  Sometimes I practice indoors too,  with the Saturno Xtreme.

So, still alive  !
Im still here   ;)
Have a great and happy new year everyone!

So glad you are having fun, that is what it is all about  ;D

The white and red bearing top is a modified Duncan Bearing King, also known as a Diet BK. I love to make Diet BK's.  Anyway, the one I sent you came to me from Takeshi (he's a super-cool spin top, yo-yo, and kendama dude). The tips on BK's are plastic but do not break easily, and the top is pretty light so it might be a good indoor option as well.

As always, let us know if you run into any issues, and much happy spinning to you   ;D

Hello folks,
Just practiced outside,  the weather is great  here in Belgium :)
I need to do a little 'warm up ' every time I practice, because sometimes I did not practice for a few days!
It was amazing!  Got it boomerang  every time. and almost every time, it  landed on my hand. :D
Right now,  I feel I am ready to practice indoors too.
If I can throw an (almost ) perfect boomerang,  I do not need to fear!  But in the past I did.
Every time the top crashed to the floor,  it hurted me too,  in some way  :(
But , as long as the sun is shining,  and the weather is great,  I practice outside in my garden.

Hello folks,

Im getting better at practicing indoors!
Also played with my Neptuno,  last week,  outside.
It was a beautiful day,  and I decided to boomerang it , outside on the grass .
Succes!   :D
I finally get the 'trick ' to  boomerang my tops.
Maybe it's time to boomerang my wooden tops?
I feel I'm ready to tame the wooden ones I got from my grandfather!
Also , when I'm throwing inside,  sometimes I practice target throws too.
Can't wait going to Loon Plage  :D
Have a nice day!

Hello folks,

Just updating my progress here.
I managed to boomerang and correct the 3D printed top in my hand!
Thanks to the video by Chris Neff,  and the small lesson by Ta0 , during my visit at Loon Plage.
It's very smooth,  and I like the feeling of a spinning top on my hand  :D.
Since I have met you people at Loon Plage,  I found the reason I was born   ;D
I want to be as great as you all are,  so I practice and have tons of fun!

Amazing!
I DID IT!
I boomeranged my grandfathers wooden top!
I  never managed to do that , and finally,  I did it  ;D
It happened when I was practicing with my newest wooden top, GRANDFATHERS top.
I know I could do it , but so quick. ., my other grandfather must be watching over me,  and helped me out.
When I start throwing a top,  I always look up at the sky and say ' look grandfather,  I'm making you proud!'
Used the old technique,  started to wind the string from the tip.  Like battle tops, Those without crown.
now I know what did the trick for me,  and I never thought it would work, actually.
Thanks everyone,  for never giving up on me. And thanks to Ta0, for telling me that those old , crownless tops are winded from the tip.
Many warm greets

finally! I did it!
after a bit of failure, I managed to boomerang my wooden battle top :D
got this top from a friend, a long time ago. I painted it black and gold, the radioactive top :). got a green one too. but this one is a tiny bit lighter.
this whole time it was standing on my display with the other tops.
today i thought: do it! try it!
and i had so much fun!
got it on camera :)
enjoy!

Nice! Smooth boomerang! That's a big milestone in top playing. Non-players will consider you an expert when they see you doing it. CONGRATULATIONS!

If you can get it come a little higher it will be easier to catch. With a solid top you need to pull back stronger than with a hollow top (because it has more inertia). When you switch to a plastic top it will be easier to get it higher.

From the video it appears that you may need to work a little more of balancing the top once it's on your hand. If that's the case, a bearing top is great to practice.

I need to practice on the balancing thing. It's easier with a plastic top. Maybe because this one is heavy?
I'm hooked with getting my wooden top on my hand!
