It was great to have you with us, Walter.  I will always treasure our time in the Hall of Fame and hearing your stories of working with Jim Schrieber.

I don't know if this is the right time or not to let the cat out of the bag, but there has been some talk of Alan Gray (Spinningray) coming to Miamisburg.........and stopping to pick up Chris Neff along the way.  Can you imagine those two talking over top ideas with johnm?  That could have some wonderful repercussions for the top spinning community!

   Miamisburg 2013 is looking great!!!!   

From what I hear, Alan will try to drag one of the Denver guys (Joe, Jon or Darren) and even try to kidnap daveid on the way there.  I also hear that there may be a video of the trip.  It could become a classic (like the one of the visit to Phillipe) and attract more people to the hobby.

 I cannot come (my mother and sisters are visiting) but I will try to help with the cause

The Miamisburg Whirled Festival of Tops is just a week away on Saturday, August 24.  The festival is scheduled to start at 5:00pm for the kid's long spin contest at the Baum Opera House.  In the past, advanced spinners have parked and gathered early at Mike's church, St. Jacob's (213 East Central Avenue, Miamisburg, OH), just a short walk to/from the festival.  Mike, are we again allowed to park in your lot and play on your lawn or is there an event with which we should not interfere?

Who else is planning to attend and approximately what is your estimated time of arrival?  I am coming from Cincinnati and plan to arrive the same time as the earliest announced arrival time on Saturday (not counting anyone spending the night in Miamisburg, of course  )  I will be bringing some large tops including HDPE Grande and Jumbo for anyone to try.

Wow, johm!  You just upped the ante when you said you would have HDPE Grande and Jumbo to try!!!

Of course, you are always welcome to park in our lot and use our lawn, even if it is raining out.  I am looking right now about the weather for the 24th.  One forecast says rain and hot for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with Saturday dry and a little cooler!  Another forecast says scattered clouds and warm the days before with the 24th once again dry.  So far so good on the weather.

I did just run across a bit of a snag on my end.  A very active older member of the congregation just died and there is talk about the funeral being "towards the weekend".  That might be Friday or it might be Saturday.  Even if it is Saturday I am sure it will be in the morning and will be something we can work around.

I am in the midst of firming up the teams and other support crew for the event.  Last I heard the Uniquely Buechele was going to be available for that day.  Hope that is still the case!

From what I hear, this is going to be a major meeting of top players.  Alan will be driving from Denver, bringing Darren with him.  And on the way they will be picking up Neff and daveid!!!  With John Buechele (pronounced beeklee  ), WaxyAxle, Johnm, probably others from Cincy Top Labs, and perhaps even the Cleveland/Indianapolis crews, this could top Miamisburg 2010!  I hear a video will come out of this.  It will be great!
