Recorded my application today:

Nothing fancy, just wanted to get it done.

Can anyone tell me how to get it approved?

Nicely done! Curious...

Q1: What would the ideal throwing top for snap starts look like in terms of weight, size, shape, hollowing, etc? (Not necessarily a common design.)

Q2: Which tricks would it also be good for?

Q3: And which tricks would not work so well?

Art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time ... and with spinning tops, we decorate both.

A small top with small total moment of inertia is easier to snap start into spinning on the hand or the floor. For this reason, with many tops taking the cap off makes it easier.
On the other hand, regenerating a top is easier with a heavier top, so to snap start and continue playing, a heavier top might be better if your fingers are strong enough.

Snap start is amazing :) I personally learned it on the almighty QSH due to it's high weight... the biggest hurdle is to learn how to SNAP and how to throw the top in a position you can catch it with your best regen ( in my case it's rollercoaster to string... I can't do it with drumbeat. ) And then it's just the mater of not STRESSING about it. :P

It's an amazing skill to have and once you have it, I personally throw not that much... only a couple of time per sesh.. I mostly snap ( and that skill DOES translate so well to fixed axle yoyo where you do need to rewind all the time :P )

Sorry for th ramble
