Hello there! I recently convinced Ta0 to sell me a Cuper 360. Considering the fact that I have proven to be quite the tip mucker, I convinced my friend to turn a few for me--he works as a machinist. Tonight he handed me a bag of 25 stainless tips and one titanium tip. So, I don't know how hard they are to come by, but I wanted to put it out there that I have some for sale or trade.

Wow! Having a machinist friend is pretty nice!
Are you planning to try the titanium tip on concrete? If you are I want to see the sparks!
Let's do it! The Titanium tip is a micrometer too small, so I have to figure out a way to get it to stay in. It is too tight to pull out by hand, but it works its way out on boomerangs. The SS tips are perfect.
As a side note, I love the Cuper! I feel bad because it is taking a beating and is not nearly as pretty as when you gave it to me two weeks ago, but it is so much fun to play. I am finally doing cable cars thanks to the Cuper. I think I was trying to start my bind too early the last time we played. It took me watching your video about 30 times to realize it.
A drop of superglue should work well (Dale many times uses it with the QS fitted with Salvador tips).
The Cuper 360 is a good top. For the regen marathon Marco (Cuper) does in the video at the children museum he uses one of those tops (with my logo on the crown!)
Perhaps we can try he titanium tip on my driveway Sunday and make a video (if it works as expected).

I am sorry to report that the titanium tip does not spark SirBoot was willing to risk his Cuper for the benefit of top science, but we only got the top scratched. I guess the reason is that the tip spins in one place, with little friction. We also tried to slide it on the concrete while spinning, to no avail. If you try it with a Ti yo-yo, the rim surface speed that contacts the ground is very high so there is lots of grinding, plus good ejection speed of the incandescent bits of metal. In hindsight, a normal steel tip does not spark spinning on the driveway but gets goods sparks against a grinder . . .
Ahhh....Pueblo! I was there only once - back in 1978. I was passing through and camped there overnight. The ground was so dry and hard I could not get the tent stakes out the next morning. Driving out of the campground I saw a sign that said "Desert camping is fun." All these years later, I still chuckle when I think about it.
Hope you are enjoying Pueblo and glad to hear you are still playing!!!
Nice to hear from you, Justin. Congrats on the house. You won't have to throw in front of the big screen TV anymore!
I am very happy that you are still playing tops and academia has not gotten into your head!
Will we see you in Cleveland? Europe 2017?
