Put-and-Take with sewing kit
« on: March 27, 2024, 04:33:10 PM »

Gianni won this top at an auction and I'll keep it until we meet again.
It's a six-sided put-and-take teetotum, with the strange twist that it has a sewing kit inside.

I'm curious to hear theories of why they would combine a gambling top with a sewing kit!

I first thought it was American, but the stem is lightly marked Bavaria, so I guess it was made in Germany for the US market.
The thimble is also marked Bavaria, proving that the sewing kit goes in fact with the top.

Well, if the sewing kit has scissors, you could use them to cut your losses. And the needle and thread could be used to sew up a jackpot.

I'll let myself out.
