Very nice shape and interesting B&W pattern! (Nothing to do with repairs, I'm sure.)

And who knew that birds in slow motion sound just like whales?

gorilla brand duct tape is great and often re-stickable...
the thin plastic pots from walmart are not impact resistant so even if it's a really light top for it's size, it can get big cracks, when i patched the s shaped crack on one side with the duct tape, I figured i should do some balancing by spreading some of the tape that had been in different parts all over the exterior... eventually I'll get another pot or two or three(they seem to carry the same shape year after year just painted different colors), and i intend to take a fresh pot and coat it entirely in the dict tape for strength, i just think it'll add a lot of weight to it (like im thinking of the weight of two of the big rolls at least isnt something i wanna add to it but something i need to add).

this is slowed to 1/8 speed, at other speeds the birds sounded kinda like dogs

Wait, that's a plastic flower pot from Walmart?? Some photos of how you stuck a tip on it, please!

At 1/16 speed, maybe the birds will sound like James Earl Jones.

That is hilarious!  A flower pot from Walmart?  Taped to cover cracks which adds to the visual?  You are amazing, Daveid!!!

Nice idea! But of course, the devil is in the details or in this case in the tip. But perhaps it's made from something else from Walmart.  :D

I didn't believe a 10 inch top could look small, but on that photo it does!  >:D

The tip looks like it was molded by hand around a metal bar core. ???

(internet is being weird so if this reply shows up twice i won't be surprised)

i forgot that i put the description on the short version of the vid:
sculpted a quick tip for it out of epoxy putty on a threaded rod, shifted around some weights in the form of washers duct taped to the interior and added some tape to the exterior and interior for strength and in some cases balance.

I'll add that the sixteen washers i have duct taped to the interior i weighed at roughly one ounce each, originally i had them at near the outermost diameter but trial and error have forced me to move them closer and closer to the tip, i originally didnt think itd be a big deal to have them as a sort of weight ring but, it turns out that more weight out there means adding spin to the top as it slides down the string is way more difficult... i dunno momentum or leverage math but now that i think about it it makes sense like with gears on a mountain bike.
