That's right, today is the second Wednesday of October so it's International Top Spinning Day. Before realizing it I had already spun a top: I tried a 0.7kg (1.5lb) Colombian top (Antioquia style). It can be regenerated better than I thought (no need to turn around like I have seen the Colombians do). I'll post a photo later.

Jim: you forgot to replace the face of Trump with a Trompo.  :P

Argh.....a big part of the day has slipped by before I noticed this!!!  Thanks for the reminder.  I did already review a musical (Anything Goes) and a key song from it......You're the Top.  It has potential for us.

Got to get some tops out right now!

Make America spin again kept me laughing all day.

I thought it was going to be a washout for the rest of the day but I did get to put a spinning top in a number of new hands on the cross country team and they were happy.  Then when it seemed like the day was done a woman gave me two perler bead creations, which was a nice gesture.  Then I noticed they had a good center hole so I put a nail through the middle of both of them and they spin great.  The woman who created them will be happy and I am thrilled to have two nice top gifts on International Spintop Day!!!

I remembered  the day and finally got out in the evening ... Starting to get a couple r/c's to string ..it is a work in progress ..it seems every thing is slowing down so that I can get a higher success ratio.. I keep watching neff, Tao , and others videos

Spent some time outside celebrating spin top day by continuing to fail at snap starts....spin the top, top touch the string, top falls to the ground, pick up the top....try again. I did have some success with joker choker and it's getting better.

And the tops I ordered from Spingear arrived yesterday!
