I find the "open" (no bind) corkscrew easier to do with fixed tip than bearing tip, I don't know why. But obviously for attempting multiple corkscrews it is better a bearing top.
Your way of getting more slack to start the second corkscrew by eliminating one wrap is elegant. But to do more repetitions I would do what players use to do in the early 2000's: opening the wraps one by one by pinching them with the fingers.

I did the TOW double corkscrew.
I also practiced the open (no-bind) corkscrew. Using a Chico 2.0 I could do 2 open corkscrews in a row many times and once 3 in a row. I think with a little more practice I could do 5 with one throw. The limit is the spin of the top as it is difficult to do the open corkscrew if top slows too much.

Nice one, opening wraps looks faster that I could imagine so it's pretty usable way to do multiple corkscrew
