Great!

I hate you by the snap-start (as a Peter Pan... hate, hate, hate :-D )

A lot of interesting tricks with a standard Ripcord.... with a original tip? Please, confirm me such data.

I appreciate the cross-arms trapece when the top is pointed to you. I have problems with the normal trapece with the point pointed out from me and your movement can help me with the Jocker-chocker-II.

I just enjoy a lot, as you wish. Thanks.

Nice!!!  Your progress has been amazing.  May it be an inspiration to all top spinners.

I also enjoy the little touches of humor at the end of your runs.  Tossing the top into the frisbee goal made me laugh.  I play some disc golf and will think of that next time I throw at the goal!

How long ago did you pick-up tops again?  When did you start regenerating? Two months ago? That's amazing! I see you competing for the world title next year!

I sometimes do the crossed-arm drum beat (did it on my nats08 routine) but not the full joker choker. But I guess the name should be: "crossed-arm joker choker."

Is that a private disc golf cage in the background?!  It looks portable.  Great tricks!!

Thanks, eva-body!
Pulp - I know exactly what you mean about the snap start.  I was insanely jealous the first time I saw somebody do it.  My thumb is very sore from practicing.  Yeah, it's a stock ripcord with no weight ring.  I call it "rasta-top".
Mike - we should play a round of disc golf together if we ever end up in Orlando or Chico at the same time.
hemingsoft - yessir, got another one in my basement.  Disc Golf is what was occupying my mind before spin tops recently took over.
SpinQueen - your videos inspire me - you, and those around you, look like you're having so much fun!
ta0 - my progress would be nothing without this forum.

For those who can't snap start yet, give this way a try.  I tried other methods i've seen, other tops, this is the only way i've had any success.  I'll list out some pointers a little later... I'm hungry, and the McRib is back.

Nice work Chris!  I (we) love videos...

Your snap start looks similiar to the way folks snap yo-yo's--good stuff.

The Rastop color scheme is nice mon...

Chris.....interestingly enough, we were together down in Orlando this year.  I remember seeing you at Lucky's just seconds after Jorge got your picture with Figaro.  I had no idea, at the time, of your potential interest in top spinning.  Not long after that I was in the corner of the yoyo room watching the 15 seconds of fame and posting to this forum on Lucky's computer!

That is one nice golf disc goal.  I had no idea it was portable and in your backyard.  Another interesting bit of trivia, my idea of putting a golf disc goal in my backyard was recently shot down by the rest of my family.  I'm back to hitting the trees like we did when I was in seminary back in the late 70's.

One other note: welcome to the club.  I see where your next post will put you up to 100 messages and you will be a gold member!

The trick you do into the priod of 12 and 14 seconds is one of those I must get, and is very typical of the USA style of playing.

Ah yes, the whip catch.  Matt Ritter is the master at this trick with tops, IMO.  It's not too hard if you've already learned it on an off-string yo-yo or diablo.  On a top, just remember you don't have to aim for the tip, aim for the the lower middle of the body with an imaginary line extending from your index finger.

Something special for post 100:

Actually, Matt's whips are not yo-yo whips: they are underhand, not overhand.
I would say that getting consistent whips with a top takes a long time to learn (at least that was the case for me). And it is one of the highest risk elements on a freestyle.

I really like Chris's video but I was disappointed to see the comments some people wrote about top spinning being "boring" and "the same thing over and over again".  But, maybe that's OK because I don't do very well watching yo-yo performances.
