Well, it is an anti-colonialist/anti-capitalist essay based on a trip of high-school students to Nicaragua organized by buildOn (an NGO that builds schools, buildOn.org). Nicaragua is probably the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere after Haiti and suffered under the US-backed Contras against Sandinistas war.
Some trompos are briefly shown perhaps to lighten the mood. Towards the end a kid does a big scoop and tries to put the trompo in the hand of one of the visitors.
