I had seen on a blog here in Brazil that staff did pet and even chess pieces with this technique of "Papietagem" this technique is to get a children's party balloon and go with gluing strips of newspaper to get a very stiff consistency I did nine layers of paper, I will try to improve in the next technique, the difficulty and adjust the thickness of the walls but will slowly improving ...

Great Flavio! A working paper top!   
The technique reminds me the one used in carnival to make giant heads and decorations for the parade.

A top like that, painted or made with color paper, would have been a great submission to the mod top contest at worlds.

You did it. Good job. I was thinking of making a top out of all my wood chips with glue. But I hate glue. Glue hates me.
