I am sitting in Bullwinkle's TOP hat bistro playing some cards with our youth group.  I am looking at the top we made on the dollar bills that now is tacked to the wall.  It seems like this is a good location to announce my latest attempts at endurance spinning.  First of all, I do not recommend doing this endeavor in the wind.  Last week I got up to 26 minutes then the wind whipped the rope out of my hand.  Tonight I tried for a long run in the sanctuary of the church.  It went well and I ended up with 52 minutes and 58 seconds......but don't ask me about eyewitnesses.  This effort was just between me and God.

I have waited a long time for today.  This is my 1000th post!  I didn't get here in time to report about the Miamisburg top fest so I was hoping for something else significant to talk about.  As I sit here with a good meal from Chipotle I am happy to look back over my morning activities and share with you my new endurance best.  I felt good today so I decided to push it and ended up with one hour 34 minutes and 38 seconds.  I will rest my body for a few days and see how I feel before I try this again.  That is a long time standing in one place.

Woohoo! Over one hour and a half! I may never do that much.

Congrats on the Hyperhero member status. This may be the first time I share member status since several of us were Newbies  :P But not for long! I still need to decide what comes at the 1500 posts. Should I keep the "heroic" names or start something else?

Platypus Hero should be next.
Congrats Mike!  I don't know if my attention span would allow me to do over 15 minutes, so I'm impressed!

Congratulation Mike, that is truely Hyperheroic.  I didn't see this bit of info in this thread, so I'll ask:  Which trompo was strong enough to endure such a feat?  After spinning for over 1 1/2 hours was it dizzy and did it fall down right away?  I know I would have  ;D

Another of Alan's tops that will become a legend. It needs a name, I would say.

looks like I have some work to do. I feel like an hour and a half isn't too long  ::)

Step One
Get One Way Bearing Top

Step Two
Tie Up Mike So He can't get a longer time

Step Three
Get rid of ADD so I can stand in one place for an hour and half

Step Four
look at the shiny... d'oh

I have been searching around the internet about long spinning efforts.  There are several things out there about topnosis and two hours and 52 minutes as the record.  I have been thinking about that and working on it and today I gave it a shot at St. Charles school in Kettering.  They were great hosts and eyewitnesses.  With this being my 1100th post I hoped to have something big to report.  Actually, I do have a personal best to report but it is not quite the number I was shooting for.  I made it to two hours and 23 minutes before I dropped.  Despite coming up a half hour short I am happy and pleased with a new personal record.  I am also happy that I feel good physically and have a reason to try again.

Maybe I am number two?
