Video of Race and Whip
« Reply #15 on: March 02, 2012, 11:38:29 PM »

Here is a little video or the Top Races and the Chinese whip top.

We raced just before Mark had to leave for the airport so we did not have time to polish the racing technique. We did no have specific rules and we just ran a distance that would not make us sweat.  >:D  But it was enough to verify that it is a lot of fun.

For the Chinese whip I recommend raising the volume to the max to get a better idea of how it sounded.

On the last sequence you can see Mechtop together with Mark and SirBoot32.

That is a top that commands attention (or at least attracts it  ;)).  Besides loud, the sound is more than a little eerie too.

Nice work guys!

Thanks for the video guys, neat stuff.  The sounds reminds me of our tornado sirens, so yeah kind of eerie.

Great review of the fest.

A note for left and right handed top and or diabolo catch.  Face each other.  I have done this for years being a lefty while most others are right handed. :D

Hey, Mike, you have not commented about our running roller coaster technique. Do you think you can beat us?  ;D

I guess I missed watching the video.  It has been kind of crazy around here with Lent going on and extra worship services etc.  The best news is that we have twins who will be baptized this Sunday.  I am going to give them each a Twin Spin from the Hall of Fame - donated by Tom Connolly (thanks Tom).

First of all, I must comment on the top whipping.  It must have been one nasty top.  I can almost hear you saying after every whip......bad top!  bad top!  You are a bad top!!!

I am proud of your track work with the rollercoasters.  I haven't given it too much thought but your video certainly makes it look like fun!  I wonder what it would be like running sideways?  By the way, what track is that?

Yes, Jugglefest moved this year off the University of Texas main campus. The track is very convenient, just outside the doors of the gym where the festival takes place.  They plan to continue using this facility in future years, so if you come we can race for sure  ;D

For some odd reason, I ended up looking at this video today.  Maybe it could be because of some crazy thing that was delivered to the church.  Many around the place thought the pastor had ordered a rifle for protection!

Thanks for the laughs.  I love this video!!!
