mod Rip Cord from Russia
« on: May 05, 2010, 01:27:36 PM »

I'm from Russia and I will not write a lot of words because for me it is a headache ... That made a mod  Rip Cord, the only top that you can buy from us, no spare parts, the standard had to grind off the top of a bearing ...
Sorry for my bad English. It's a machine translation.

WOW, great job IgorBO and welcome, I love the gold spots on it, and the heavy bearing will make it more playable, very creative.
I am wondering how that synthetic string works, I have always had problems with strings made of that material.
Good to have you here in this forum IgorBO!!

Welcome Igor! I love it when we get a member from a new country! (You were for a little while member 100th but I had to delete 99th as it was spam.)

That is a great looking mod! Thanks for sharing it!

I hope you get more access to spintops in the future. I know Russia has become a strong yo-yo market, so hopefully it will also have a growing spintop scene.

I had some troubles with it so I haven't actually used it. Just thought it would look awesome on photo.)

Nice job on the mod.  Glad to see more people are doing it.  How's the balance?  I personally took the cap down a good bit so that there is barely a lip for the string to loop around.

I have to admit, I love my diet-RC.  It sounds much better when I drop it (a nice little melody instead of sounding like it's going to break) and snap-starts really easy. Not to mention, it bounces really nice.  A good bounce will come back up to my waist and has a nice hang time for whip-catches.  I've even managed a few snap start-bounce-whip catches ;).

Lastly, this top seems to take a lickin and keeps on tickin.  I've broken every type of top I've gotten my hands on, save this one.

Very nice job, IgorBO, that's a good looking top. All of you guys are killing me with these things, but I just can't stand the thought of taking a powertool to any of my cherished old Ripcords. Which made for the perfect excuse to open up another browser tab and order up a couple more RCs!  ::)

Have Fun,
