Close encounter of the 4th kind
« on: July 11, 2021, 01:01:50 PM »

Ahhh, a week in a cabin next to Rocky Mountain National Park -- just what we needed to remind ourselves that COVID didn't ruin everything!

Took Roxie to a nearby dog park for a little off-leash exercise safe from the bears and mountain lions. Then this happened...

Beautiful place!

Was it a friendly encounter or did they challenge it other?
I know Roxie has a lot of moxie, so she would probably even take on a bear! ;D

I'd say cautious curiosity on both sides -- with curiosity winning out in the end.

Roxie's not afraid of big dogs, as she knows how to keep them confused. But this buck was way bigger than any animal she's encountered so far.
