DIY: Taiwan Spintop Stand
« on: February 12, 2019, 04:25:55 PM »

Hello!

I finally got all to build a stand for taiwan spintop target throwing  ;D
  • The nut is 1/4 Whitworth compatible with lighting stand / camera tripods.
  • The wood part is a pulpo plate.
  • The plastic is a 2mm pvc foil.
  • The lighting stand is 190cm high.

Here you have the result:

And here you can see the stand in action Pepe (from Spain) and Wilson ( from Boyacá es para vivirla):

It looks like you really got inspired by Marines!
I don't have any platform like that at home. Maybe it's time I build one and start to practice :-\

Glad to see that Wilson got to continue throwing tops in Spain.

1kg... Could it be true??

Did any of you had the chance to play with official stands??

Those with the Xmas decoration are very peculiar, not to talk about the coke bottles!

Can't say it for sure but I think these are not really traditional I think it's just a way to use them in a more street show way... Mr Liu at that time didn't want to hear about something like that... He was already shocked enough when we started inventing the Toupétanque!  ???
So from this fact you/we can make it the way you/we want...
We wanted something strong enough to support Taiwan top bad throws (like my arch one) but we avoided metal for tips safety for the very same kind of throws... I think metal should be used when only experimented throwers... At least for the tips...

For same reasons we completed the platform rounded with some  rubber tube... At least on the tall one to avoid shocks on the metal circle and the top coming from down...
