Although it's simple to do, it's not a trick you often see.
Gus does something similar with a short piece of string and a fixed tip, but I don't know the name.

I propose, "Mermouy's Twirler"  ;)

That's nice of you I would propose Cyclone or Tornado which sound more impressive in my opinion...  ;)
It is actually really simple to do and has a good effect on audience, I use it in my street show freestyle.
I've been doing this trick since so long, in fact I remember finding this while learning Mach5...

That is a nice trick.  I love tricks that are visually interesting, yet reliable to do.  Unless research shows that Gus has a name for it, I agree with Cyclone.
