It is called water transfer printing or hydrographics. Maurizio also showed a prototype using that technique: Metal STB test

I am guessing that it is too expensive for plastic tops, but on high-end tops it could be used.

I guess I had forgotten about Maurizio's post. To tell you the truth, I had also forgotten about your tops until you started this thread.
But for sure your tops were the first ones I ever saw in person (and still are). I think an extra $3 is a good price to get such a decoration

estaria  bien  que  lo mostraras el post de maurizzio   no crees   asi  seria   mas  veridica  tu  version y respecto al precio si creo que es un precio justo mas envio por supuesto depende del tamaño si son trompos grandes como figaro el costo es mayor

se  ve  muy  bien   la impresion   mas  te reitero que desde  feb de 2014  hago eso con mis trompos  de echo  esa  foto que  subi  fue tomada en feb de este  año 2016 mucho antes  que  maurizio


Looks very well the impression but I reiterate that since feb of 2014 I do that with my tops of echo that photo that I uploaded was taken in feb of this year 2016 long before that maurizio

who did it first doesn't really matter... it was done on yoyos almost 15 years ago.. and it's a common process in other industries.

Just make cool stuff and sell it to us
