Display Case
« on: August 12, 2016, 11:46:32 AM »

Figured if anyone would enjoy this it would be here :). I just finished some display cases. Used spline miter joints to hold it together as well as give it a nice look. Designed a simple sliding front panel which works nice.

Here is a yoyo version with a mirrored back.

Great work!  I would like to slowly move to better shelving in my home and the hall of fame but this is probably better than I will ever have.  Very nice!!!

Nice!  Those are some old school yo-yo's there, you've been around a while :)
That Bearing King needs a Neffy mod. Needs it bad.

Thanks for the nice words everyone.

Jack:
I don't know about craftsman, but I like to figure out (and make) things I am interested in. I think you understand all about that with the string ;)

Neff:
I am bummed I am missing my oldest yoyo. I originally learned with the Tommy Smothers video that came out around 1988. It came with a red Kodak yoyo (I miss it). Don't know what happened to it:(
I have been around a while. I used to live in Chico, so I went to College there and learned a bunch from the Bird N Hand crew back then. I remember your old Duncan videos ( still great stuff).

That Bearing King is most likely the one that is in the best shape. I think I have like a dozen in some state of disrepair. The ones that are still usable have been claimed by my son. I plan to try your mod, but need to get a wood lathe. Next spring is the plan!

Ko posed by my simple display for (mostly) old pegtops:

It is a re-purposed spice rack.  The four whistlers on the center top are from the late 1800s and/or early 1900s.

He visited the San Antonio River Walk today. Guess what he managed to buy? Trompos!  ;D
