Cleveland is getting ready to host lost of Republicans for the GOP national convention and articles in the paper are showing up about the city. Here are a few places in town that are highlighted in a recent paper: The Millard Fillmore (which is a bar themed as a joke to that president who is not from Cleveland), the West Side market (illustrates the city's proud ethnic heritage and melting-pot culture), the glittering Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum (housed in a glass pyramid), the Cleveland History Center (artifacts ranging from campaign buttons to inaugural gowns) and even the Happy Dog (with all kinds of hot dog toppings including SpaghettiOs). James Garfield IS from Cleveland and there is a memorial to him and other items nearby (he was the last President born in a log cabin and that is a few miles away).
Of course, there are plenty of places where sports teams play like the Indians (Progressive Field), the champion Cavaliers (Quicken Loans Arena) and the Browns (First Energy Stadium). Cleveland also has a Museum of Art, a Museum of Natural History, a nice public library and even a casino. There is lake front action (like a submarine memorial) and an area of town called historic little Italy. Hope this helps a bit!!!
(ha ha - I just found out they have a Chipotle restaurant very near the Renaissance Hotel. I know where I will be eating!!!)
