Every place is good.
To do it in a park, on the grass, is the most recomendable and nice.

Here is an old thread but a significant topic.  I miss the guy who first posted about this.  Hope you join us again someday, rusty!

I bring this subject up again because our high school has just put in a brand new football field made of field turf.  This is a synthetic grass surface with lots of little rubber pieces added so it has more of a grass/dirt feel.  It feels great and it is easy on my joints as I walk around it.  I know everyone is excited to watch a few home football games there every year but I see something else.  I see a new giant space to throw tops.....especially large tops!!!  I don't want to scare them yet (everyone is especially protective of the surface) but I am getting anxious to start using it.  There is plenty of area there so now I can add some top spinning to my walking!  I could never do this on the track as it was too hard on my equipment.

The back yard for new stuff but mostly the carpeted living room. I have the added obstacle of kids running by unexpectedly. This adds to the excitement ;)

Preferred spot is at the park where my kids have swim team training. Otherwise, living room or family room, especially in the heat, rain or cold.

Well it depends on the tricks and the tops.  The kitchen has a vinyl floor that is pretty good for throwing, but it is too small (and too many breakables) for regen work.  So kitchen tricks tend to be ground throws and wire walker type tricks.  I don't throw metal tops in the house.
Then there is the back yard.  Summer in Atlanta makes this spot only good in the evening and morning. (Thus the "Black Eye" accident after dark)
The local hospital has a therapeutic garden with a small lawn and street lights.
Speaking of practice......

I like to practice on the backyard lawn but the tops want to land on the rocks or concrete or the neighbor's backyard.
