Oofff!  I missed the induction ceremony.  But I got an invite to spin Big Tops at the Strong Museum for next years event which honors all the previous years Toy of the Year.  So cool the Top was a top vote getter this year and plenty of time to make plans for next years event.  The Strong Museum is such a beautiful place, can hardly wait.

Glad to hear about your Strong connection and next year’s event.  Got a call from Don Olney and he also heard from the Strong people.  They want a bunch of his tops on display there.  It feels like they have come a long way in the 13 years we have had this thread.

The humble spin top is big news once again as they induct new toys into the museum.  Looks like the Nerf ball made it along with Cabbage Patch kids, baseball cards and the Fisher-Price corn popper.  Every article I have seen about this mentions last year’s inductees and talks about the spin top.  Wonder if we had anyone there to represent the top whirled?
