Announcing 2024 on stage world contest in Mallorca, Spain!

It's confirmed. The 2024 World Spintop Contest will take place in Mallorca, Spain, on October 18!
More specifically, in the town of Pollença, on the north of this Balearic island. It's a Friday as it will be followed during the weekend by the sixth edition of the Mallorca spintop festival (VI Trobada Mallorquina de Baldufes), including its spintop Olympiads.

There will be some limited shared accommodations and also an official hotel. The weather in middle October is nice, and with some luck still can go to the beach. Easy transportation from Palma to Pollença by city bus or you may want to rent a car to explore the island (you can also take a ferry from Barcelona). Come for the tops and also enjoy the sea, the beaches, the mountains, the Roman city, the food . . .

More specifics in the next couple of weeks.

We are working on this. I was on the phone today with the owner of the apartments that will be the official "hotel". I was waiting his response to an email I send him a few days ago, but he never saw it. Hopefully, I will be able to post the information in a couple of days.

The flyer for the festival (that also mentions the contest) is almost ready (Guillem showed it to me). A flyer for just the contest will come soon afterwards.
I hope to have online registration to compete on the contest active next week.

We are planning to make Apartamentos Llevant, in Puerto de Pollensa, the official hotel of the event. It has 8 apartments available, each for up to 4 people.
The location is 3 blocs from the beach and 8.5 km (5.3 miles) from the event venue. By car/Taxi/Uber it's 12 minutes. There is a bus every 30 minutes (al least now, not sure in October) that takes 20 minutes (10 minutes in bus and 10 minute walk). If you rent a bike, it takes 22 minutes.







The offer that we have is 99 euros per day, or about 25 euros per person, including all taxes. They require a 30% deposit that is fully refundable until 21 days before the event.

The apartments have 2 beds and 2 sofa beds each (the owners live in the premises, so no more than 4 people per apartment). The apartments have a kitchen and there is free parking and a pool.



It would be nice if the players stayed together and I think this is a good offer, specially with the full refund. If you are taking a whole apartment, I can set you up with the owner with the same offer. If you just need 1 bed, ITSA can match you with roommates that are staying the same dates. In principle, we were thinking in reserving them from the 14 to the 21 and canceling extra days if people stayed fewer days.

The festival organizers also have a limited number of free lodging spaces at minimum confort: mattresses at the venue the nights of the event and at a gym the days prior. Priority will be given to the people that go every year to the festival and they expect lots of people coming.

ITSA reserved all 8 apartments from October 16th to 21st (5 nights from Tuesday to Monday).
I have already received requests from people who want individual beds for some of those days. We will assemble the roommates that will stay the same days in the same apartment and cancel the extra days for that apartment. As soon as you know your plans, contact me, so you can get the best options.

Mm, I liked that photo of a group of players from Mallorca that I just added to the poster. But now I'm thinking it might give the impression that the world contest is about spin duration on the hand
Perhaps, I need to change it to one with more active play. What do you think?

I agree : action photos with players would be more teasing
i looked at the Marines posters in my room
most of them have a player showcasing the spintops example José,Rocco,Mr Liu,Taka, etc.
