TryCatchThrow's 3D Printed Tops For Sale

Greetings! Today I have for you two of my High Voltage tops for sale. They take Short Circuit tips.

They are $40 shipped in the CONUS without a tip, $45 with. Payments via PayPal G&S preferred.

These tops are printed in 95A TPU, which has a little bit of give to it. You can squish the material ...

Re: TryCatchThrow's 3D Printed Wares

Well if it’s any consolation, I’ve dropped them more times than you can count, and they’ve been bullet proof. The larger one you sent has the aluminum tip. The TPU body acts as a shock absorber so this is the longest an aluminum tip has ever lasted for me. The other has the delrin short circuit ...

Re: TryCatchThrow's 3D Printed Wares

Thanks! I like printing integrated tips because it's much cheaper than buying tips. This whole top is around $2.50 USD worth of plastic plus a 5 cent screw. Short Circuit tips cost me $2, plus the 5 cent screw, plus the top material (which doesn't decrease a lot).

While I mostly play indoors, I've ...

Obsessed with my latest top. It’s my Rebel design on the outside printed with a different interior shape and bumped up to 58g. Feels like a tank. Printed here in 68D TPU with an integrated tip reinforced by self threading screw.

Re: New top - Quicksilver inspired

Here it is in two pieces (well, three). I call this one the Tape Job.

The top is three pieces, a top, a bottom, and an aligner.

Re: New top - Quicksilver inspired

very good- looking top !

Bravo! is the tip press-fit or part of the whole structure ?

good day
jim

The tip is a Short Circuit tip. The body has a “seat” for the tip with a 4mm hole, complete with a notch for the Short Circuit tip. It should also fit the metal Elektrik hardware, but on this ...

I'm going to tape it, just like the original.
The original Quicksilver Hybrid. The first versions of the Quicksilver were all metal and the cap screwed into the body.
Ah I have not been around for long and was only familiar with the Hybrid 🤣

New top - Quicksilver inspired

I'm still working on this design but here is my most recent top in action. It's inspired by the Quicksilver.

I'm thinking the next iteration will be two piece (maybe a third for alignment) and I'm going to tape it, just like the original.

Re: TryCatchThrow's 3D Printed Wares

The Powerline looks good!

Thanks!

TPU is great for a top because of they don't break and are also less likely to break something else.
The main drawback is the increased difficulty to 3D print. They are also grabby and tend to run far away when falling on the ground what also makes them bad ...

Re: TryCatchThrow's 3D Printed Wares

Greetings!

Today I'm presenting my second top, the Powerline. It's named after the Short Circuit as one of it's main design goals was to fit the Short Circuit tip. The second major design goal was to get a clean print in 95A TPU. I consider this my first "successful" top as it was the first one ...
