Re: Got a Mechabey and put it to the test.

Excellent! That final mutual ejection was a lot more energetic than I expected for so late in the match. The beigoma lucked out with the guard rail, but I think the Mechabey also lucked out that way in at least one previous battle.

How do the specs and spin rates of the Mechabey and that last ...

Re: Got a Mechabey and put it to the test.

I've got a Mechabey, I think also Mod2 version. They are great. The problem is that you need somebody else who has one to make it a fair and interesting combat and they are too expensive to become popular. A regular beigoma has no chance. Perhaps a beyblade is the way to go. In addition, there are ...

Got a Mechabey and put it to the test.

I got a great deal on a Mechabey Mod2 from Ebay! I put my Mod2 against some Metal Beyblades, a modern competitive Beyblade, and several types of Beigoma. I am really impressed with the Mod2's performance and movement patterns. Here's a vid of it battling:

Re: 3D Printed Battling Tops with Ripcord Launcher

Well done! Unusually quick and energetic ejections with these plastic beigoma-style tops.

Q1: Is that representative of this new system?

Q2: Any idea how the ripcord release speeds compare with those of conventional string launches?

Thanks Jeremy McCreary!

3D Printed Battling Tops with Ripcord Launcher

I designed some 3D-printed battling tops this weekend. The top can be printed with a working launcher and ripcord. The launcher and ripcord are compatible with Hasbros's Beyblade Micro series. The design I used for the tops were directly inspired by the Beigoma.

Those look great! I love making tops out of LEGO! It's so relaxing to sit down with a bucket full of bricks and make some good spinners.

Re: Beigoma on display!

Great idea! Appearance at rest is certainly an important part of a top's persona. But you need to see the appearance and behavior at speed to appreciate the total package.

At LEGO shows, I demo as many tops as I can, but that only goes so far. With QR-accesible video demos, many more tops could ...

Thanks Jeremy! The QR codes link to a YT video featuring the beigoma on display or a tutorial. I include a tutorial on how to launch a beigoma and how to make a replica from clay, paper, or 3D filament.

Good idea!!! I'm going to try that.

Re: Spin top battle!

Thanks Joah :)
Your battle video is awesome! Beautiful beigoma's too! And you can throw a perfect spinner on that arena!
Maybe I should try a board or plate next time.. Then there will be more of a battle.
But first I need to work on my aiming skills.

Thanks Hydrona! Yes more battles with the ...
