Re: New Member here....
Welcome!
60 is a great age to start throwing tops. It’ll keep you on your toes, and all the bending over is good exercise.
I got into tops through the yo-yo world as well. There are some advantages to starting old (not too many really ^-^ ) but now that I am retired I have the time to finally ...

Re: Any string experts out there?
Thank you, it is very similar to that, but this string has a single nylon core that makes it stiff and it really helps to keep it from getting caught up with the tip.

Any string experts out there?
I am trying to source some string like the stuff that came with one of my Chonkakegoma tops. They describe it on spingear as the slim, hard string. I have tried some 275 paracord and #95 paracord and the kinds I have been able to find are a bit to soft and slippery. Do any of you folks know what ...

Re: Some Chonkake Goma questions
Yes, I only tried that trick with a glove. That tip does not allow for much spin time on your hand without a glove, especially as humid as it is here this summer.

Re: Some Chonkake Goma questions
Can anyone enlighten me on how to initiate this left handed hook catch? It looks like a grind, but I think it may be more of a grab initially? When I try , I usually bounce the top forward off my finger.

Some Chonkake Goma questions
Any input on sources for tutorials would be appreciated. I have a traditional wood Chonkake and a paper one, they seem to play very differently to me, but I need a lot more time practicing regenerations and basic control with them both.

POM Chonkake Goma?
Anyone want to part with one? They are available at spingear, but used would suit me.
Thanks.

Looking for S8 Elisabetta
Hi, looking for a used Elisabetta to try to save a bit from ordering new from Italy. I don't care about scratches and such if it is functional.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Looking for Chido trompos
I ordered plastic ones direct from the Instagram account, shipping is high, around 40 bucks. You can contact them and check, but I believe it
works out to about the same as SpinGear shipping from Japan, the price was the same when I asked, if memory serves (so you better check

Re: Spintastics Quicksilver tip questions
If anyone is interested, the brass fixed tip described as a Trompo Grande tip will fit in the body, the tip is as wide as a bearing on the bottom and the rest of it fits up into the top body. I thought i might have to press the tip in, but it is not a snug fit. Some teflon tape wraps took up the ...

Spintastics Quicksilver tip questions
Can anyone tell me a little about replacing the tip on an older (10 or 12 years) Quicksilver?
I want to replace the bearing tip, which is held in with a nut, with a brass fixed tip. So my questions are,
Has the body changed over time, does the Quicksilver take a QS hybrid tip, and
how does the ...
