Re: Miamisburg 2024 - August 24th - 25th anniversary!!!

Hi all-made it home safe, I wanted to say thanks again and express my gratitude to have had the opportunity to visit Ohio this weekend! Such a treat to see friends, old and new, & enjoy some quality time with the spin top (+ juggling) crew. Too much fun! More to say but tired now…

Renee, I hope ...

Re: Miamisburg 2024 - August 24th - 25th anniversary!!!

A Friday visit to UC is possible. Note Monday is the first day of classes so activity on and around campus is high with traffic and parking issues likely.

Thanks John. I’d be keen to visit Friday if not too much trouble and if this works for you and others. Hopefully we can carpool down. I’m ...

Re: Miamisburg 2024 - August 24th - 25th anniversary!!!

I'm looking forward to finally making it to Ohio....and seeing folks again!

Unfortunately, unless I change my flights, I'm leaving super early Sunday morning...5:30 AM. I have all day Friday and Saturday though. :)

I would love to get down to the University, but not sure thats in the cards this ...

Just booked my flight. Sweet.

Wondering where folks are staying? Anyone else flying in late Thursday evening, 10:30ish? ;)

Re: Strummol8 questions

Thanks Maurizio, I appreciate the confirmation.

Are the tips in the Alice unique to Alice, or are they interchangeable with the rest of the S8 models?

Re: Strummol8 questions

Are the Dionisia and Augusta the same height? I'm guessing yes, but wanted to know for sure.

Re: TinkerTop

Thanks Neu, I appreciate the feedback. I used 100% infill in Cura slicer, but will try to add a more walls and revise up the body thickness in the next revision. I downloaded Orca Slicer to try out the new "Scarf Joint" feature at some point too. I'm not too happy with how conspicuous my seams ...

Re: TinkerTop

Thanks Ta0, I started with white PETG. It's pretty good: rigid, tough, light and seems to print OK for me. I have some purple TPU that I think I'll try when I have some time to watch it closely. I've had pretty good luck with small TPU parts (for drones). but these longer prints are nail-biters ...

TinkerTop

I've been interested in Don Jose's (jmadrigal) work on 3D printed tops and followed intermittently, but didn't have a printer and thought it was all a bit over my head...

Fortunately, used 3D printers are pretty affordable now & not too difficult to use. 3D Modeling and CAD also seemed a step too ...

I took a quick ride in the Wayback machine today and was amazed that the videos are still there. Texture & Ta0 mentioned as much above, but if anyone is interested, the landing page is below:
