Autograph after worlds 2010
« on: August 16, 2010, 09:58:38 PM »

Mike briefly stopped in at the physics department on his way home from worlds for a driving break and to show us a few things (including war wounds—it almost seems like there was a little Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding style sporting going on) and to share a few great stories.

Many of the stories involved Autograph and I'm very impressed with the number of signatures--23 total with 16 from worlds.  Great job everyone thank you for participating!  Mike expects a few more from Maimisburg (August 28 for those of you still thinking about it), so this is working out better than I hoped.  Special thanks to ta0 for EMT services.

Here is the impressive list in order (apologies in advance if I misspell your name, please correct me)

???Doc Pop  ???
Mark Hayward  (MarkHayward)
Darren Kim  (Darren Kim)
(Dazzling) Dave Schulte

Very Cool!  One of my favorite tops is one signed by two different Japanese top spinners.... Masahiro San and Fujita San.

All other tops were jealous of autograph. No other top got nearly as much attention from so many different people.

That was such a great idea, John! I can't still believe all those people threw it! I was the most impressed by Val's one handed throw.

Can I erase my printed signature and resign it with my real signature? It should look cooler.

What a joy and honor to be a part of this.  Thanks JohnM.  This kind of activity brings our community together in amazing ways!

I love that picture of Val with Autograph.

It was really special to see JohnM's face when I pulled out Autograph and starting telling him stories.

What is really special are the top spinning fans out there who care about the sport.  It is so exciting to have others asking me questions and more about what happened at worlds and the posts we made from Orlando.  Many thanks to the many fans of top spinning, especially JohnM!!!

I was jealous that I could not be at UC to see you, Mike.  I read through the notebook and it seems like this travelling top has been through a lot.

"Autograph" is a cruel mistress!
