I wouldn't call that a knockoff, as the package says "Duncan".  I think it's just a repackaging and renaming of the Ripcord for the Mexican market.  Just a guess on my part....

That is interesting and somewhat strange.

It is made in Mexico, but so are many Duncan products.
I don't know what Cua Cua stands for. A brand?
If you accent the A in "cuA cuA" it would be the sound that in Spanish is associated for a duck, and it would sound like a joke.
If you accent it in the u, cUa, cUa, it does not mean anything in Spanish and sounds weird.
A search on google only gave me one on an Ebay-like listing in Peru. Perhaps it was made for that market and it is a native word.

turns out "cua cua" is the catalan name of a district which in english is colan and from wiki we find "Colan District is one of seven districts of the province Paita in Peru", so perhaps its tourist merch

Yep, a Peruvian brand (owned by Kraft?) mainly aimed at kids and teenagers.

meh i used to be a strong believer in the rc/bk string length, but then i detoured to the way of the longer neffy strings, now the only time i use short strings is if theyre fat fat fat or using an rc or bk, life is strange......but i didnt seem to turn out that bad of a player did i???

This is, indeed, a fascinating thread.  And to top it off, I have never seen a duck throw a top much less do a reversible corkscrew!!!
