Rascals
« on: February 16, 2010, 03:13:56 PM »

I updated the Rascals page on the top wiki.  I still have to get back to it with photos once I find my rascals, but most of the info is there.

I'm not sure how to work on Wiki, but here is a picture of some of my Rascals.... I think I got them from Mark Hayward way back when.  If anyone is interested I have quite a few.  Only one in the package, so that is not available.  I will try to scan the instructions to post later?

You remembered correctly Don, you got them from me.  I made sure that the few collectors that I knew at that time got a good assortment of Rascals including the few that I had in the package.

I have been meaning to make one for a while now. I wasn't sure quite how. I figured it out today.

It is made from osage orange and spins very well. I didn't have one to copy from since Mark wouldn't let go of any of his. I just eye balled it.

It is 4.7 cm high, 3.2 cm dia and 2 mm thick.

Looks like I was very close just from my eyes.

If I were doing it,  I'd chuck the piece, hollow out the cone, shape the outside to match, and part off.  I'm sure Alan will let us know his method.

Mark..I seem to remember a video of you guys spinning a lot of these but I can't seem to find it (searching rascal turns up a lot of unrelated hits).  Do you have a link to that?
