Dave Bazan performed at 2017 BAC
« on: June 04, 2017, 03:47:52 AM »

I was there, I saw it with my own eyes, and he performed with spintops.

I will try to share a few photos soon. I'm sure plenty of us are interested in photographic proof.

Fantastic day. Can't wait to run sound production for BAC next year!

(I also picked up my second black Gulia top from YoYoExpert while I was there as well.)

I believe he started BAC, back in the day.
I wonder if he is going to nats this year (he went last year). He could be a judge (assuming he is not competing).

Yes, we want proof. If there was a video it would be even better.  ;)

I only had one camera. I chose to go with stills. I know there were guys video recording. I could have used my phone for video, but I kinda had my hands full between monitoring audio with my iPad and the camera. I'm going to go through my camera in a bit and maybe upload a dozen or so photos here. I hope they came out good.

Steve Brown, JD, Andre,  and Bill(last name eludes me) also performed. It was a real unexpected bonus to watch these "legends of BAC" perform. Dave's spin top play was also well received.

He as using both the YYF Short Circuit and Electrick. Not sure if he picked them up at the YoyoExpert booth or if he brought them with him. The strings looked thicker than stock so I think he brought his own.

The blue is an Elecrick. The lighter one is the Short Circuit. He ended up dropping an Electric and swapped to his 2nd Electrick. He only brought 2 tops with him.

You just put the url as this:
Code: [Select]
www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t73474zT9sand the forum automatically embeds it.

By the way, is Jeremiah Bazan, who is yoyoing in another video of BAC, Dave's son? I wonder if he also does tops . . .  ;)

Someone has good taste in music. Is Dave a member here?

Dave registered on the forum (meridianyoyoclub) but hasn't been active since 09.

That's probably house music. If you want to know his taste in music, you can find his yo-yo artistic performance (AP) routine from worlds 03 (third place, imitating a scratching disc jokey) on this page:

There also videos there with a very blond Chris Neff  :D

YYF Ben chose the music for everyone kinda randomly. So, you could say it was "house music". It was playing off Ben's phone. I just left the stereo input channels open and let Ben play the music. I think everyone was too busy having fun during that period. I stepped away from the monitor-land position to take photos.

I think I may have had JD's music that was selected on my hard drive. The rest, I don't believe I did but I know it didn't come from my computer.

I didn't ask if JJ did spin tops. Who knows. JJ did compete at Nationals in the prelims but didn't make it out of that round. I'm not sure if he was paid for or not, or just put in for exhibition. For BAC, he was exhibition only.
