Fernando's Whip?
« on: August 19, 2016, 12:36:16 AM »

Hola.
This is (I think) a whip Fernando was showing me at worlds.
It is an "other hand" whip, or a whip with your non-throw hand.
I like it.
This is a video of me learning it.

I like it. I will try it. When you get it down I would like to see TAR BABY do it.

I think OSHA requires steel-toed boots for that kind of thing.

oh dont worry, we dont fall into OSHA's mandate, but rather under TOPSHA's which has the policy of no shoes no socks no problems  8)

It has been a while since I have read the TOPSHA international guidelines. However from memory some of it reads like:
Bloody lip from failed corkscrew trick - get ice cube
Wife gets bruise on chin from her own bad boomerang - Hug her
Swollen ankle from high speed Koma impact - Ace bandage and ice for 5 days.
There are also the recent LEGO guidelines but I have not read them yet.

Jack and Kirk: Very good! TOPSHA sounds refreshingly lax.

The LEGO folks are understandably obsessed with safety. They'd cringe in horror at the sight of a LEGO top spinning at 4,000 RPM. If you think it hurts to step on a LEGO brick barefoot, try stopping one with your forehead at 20 m/s.

Jeremy, about a month ago I was throwing one of my 4 1/2 hallow tops at the park. I missed the line and the top hit the top of my shoe. I heard a loud noise and realized I had steal tip shoes on. I was lucky I didn't break the top. It's better if I wear my ugly sandals. And they are ugly.
