Looks like me and my two traveling companions secured a place about 9min walk from the Harpa. Now I have to start looking for airline tickets.
Good, but, is your place refundable in case we need more people to fill the ITSA headquarters?  ::)

I hear that Ludo is coming with his wife, Karine. Mike: tell Dawn that she may have somebody else to talk to while we are at Harpa.

What about JNeff? Are you still coming to Iceland? And the current world champ? It would be fun to have the two Neff's under the same roof!

I didn't book it, my friends wife did. I'm just tagging along since they've been to Iceland before.

Dorothy and I are planning on going to Worlds, Noah is coming too! (for those of you that remember him from Orlando Worlds a while ago he is now a 21 year old college student, 6'1" and a handsome dude).  We are planning on tacking on a bunch of extra days, but we're trying to figure out whether to add the extra days before or after Worlds. What are other people thinking?

Yippee! Worlds is getting better and better!

Unfortunately, I will only stay in Iceland one extra day after the contest.

hello  !

that's great news , Eric !
if you have some spare time and wheels
i would recommend

Geysir which is 1h from reikjavik
then drive north to Kyolur, see the big waterfalls
and optional drive all the way north to akureiri
there are a couple of fords on the way ...
from geysir you could also drive east as far as the
vatnajokull, the large ice cap which remains frozen in the summer

plenty of incredible landscapes

c u there

I think we should all get together for a TROMPO weekend in San Jose, California.  Why because Gus has a sister in Hayward, Brian, lives in Salinas, Katheryn lives in Dublin, and Herman lives in Sacramento.  And jmadrigal has family in the bay area.
My grandson and I have a lot of different tops – different sizes and different woods.  We need the experts to check them out and have a lot of fun. I know Gus would LOVE it.  Let me know what you think.

You gotta love Iceland, what a country
With a history of fish and Vikings and the sea
Sure there's some cold, that's how it goes
But lots of geisers and volcanoes
And a land that is beautiful and free

Too cold for me to live there but it looks beautiful to visit.

154 days left!
We might have a very nice group of spintop players in Reikjavik. El Rey del Trompo, Gerardo Jimenez (the circus guy from Mexico) is coming. There are two groups in Colombia that may come. Some other countries may be represented  :-X

Flights at the time of the contest on Icelandair from Chicago are $499. By the way, Icelandair does not have baggage fees, while Wow will kill you with those.

For years they were a part of Denmark
And sometimes winters can be quite dark
They like their elves and it's quite fitting
Their national pastime is knitting
To stay warm when things are quite stark

This weekend is the European contest in Bratislava. I expect things to start moving after the organizers settle back, by the end of the month.
Although ITSA is officially in charge of running the spintop contest, we don't yet know how much stage time and top space we will have available. We want to have as many activities as possible so, please, give us any suggestions you have.

Here is the third verse:

The northernmost capital on earth
Is Rejakavik, full of love and mirth
There are many Lutherans you can see
And one of the visitors will be me
For a championship of some worth

Putting all three verses together forms a song I have been singing at open mike night at the Lucky Star.  I am nervous about sharing my new verse.

USA Today has a list of the happiest nations on earth and the Norse countries are tops with Norway, Denmark and Iceland the top three.  Canada is #7 with USA at 12.  Germany is 16, UK 19 and France 31.  Glad we are going to a happy place.  I am sure we will see lots of smiles!
