I throw with my right hand and spin with my left hand. I just have to wrap the tujlub for the proper hand. It doesn't matter which hand you use to throw and spin. You need to make sure you wrap the tujlub for the proper hand. There is no requirement for direct hit. The tujlub can roll or slide on the ground and hit the target. You just have to make sure that you do not step on the foul line.

Since you are visiting the museum in Burlington, WI, you should go check out the tujlub players in Milwaukee. There are about 60 tujlub players in Milwaukee. The name of the park is called Carmen Playfield. The address is 7320 W Carmen Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53218.

Here is a short video that shows the players playing tujlub at Carmen Playfield in Milwaukee:

I love to see the new generation getting into the sport.
There are quite a few players on that video!

Do you know if there are any tujlub players in Texas?

Well, this looks like a lot of fun.  I wouldn't mind trying it but the guy in the one video that hits everything has set a very high standard!!!

Memorial day weekend gives some time to practice but I have a couple other obligations at that time.  This sure looks like a good time, though.  I am guessing that that there might already be a couple of these tops made at the University of Cincinnati and that they already have a official field set up where they are practicing!!!

I do not know any tujlub players in Texas. However, there is a small Hmong population in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. If you do find yourself meeting a Hmong in within that area, you should ask about tujlub. Every year, there is a Hmong New Year in Texas. Google search "Hmong New Year Texas" for further search. The only states I know where there are tujlub players in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Colorado, California, and Rode Island.

Although you are not able to make it in GreenBay during the Memorial weekend in May, there is a tujlub tournament in Minnesota on July 4th Independence day weekend, and Labor Day weekend in Greenbay, WI. I will post up flyers when it gets close to the date of the tujlub tournament.

You can now add New York to the list.
That's where I live.    :)

Since you live in New York, you should check out the tujlub players in Rhode Island.

Do you have a contact I can get in touch with in Rhode Island?
It's not too long a drive there from where I live.

Sorry, I do not know anyone in Rhode Island. However, you can attend their Hmong New Year in Rhode Island and meet the tujlub players there.

I sent a message to the person who posted that video on YouTube.
Hopefully they will get back to me.

I don't want to feel old and poor :P so I just talked to Chia and his wife and ordered a couple to practice: one large for grass, one medium for dirt, plus one white target tujlub and two sticks (whips).

Chia's wife said that if I was young and strong I could use the "regular" size, which is the large one (about 1 pound). I first ordered two regular ones, but then chickened out and changed one to medium  :-[

I know Larry has distributed some tujlubs around. If you practice and get good, we can make a virtual team and then plan to meet at one of these contests. Even if we lose badly it should be lots of fun. What would be a good team name?

I got this photo from Chia. He made the trophies himself.

The Hmong Freedom Celebration is the biggest tujlub tournament in the US. The tournament takes place over July 4th Independence Day weekend in Minnesota.  The 1st place prize is $3,000, $2,000 for 2nd place, and $1,500 for 3rd place.

I will post information about upcoming tujlub tournament when the time is near.
