I am rereading through this thread yet again, but this time with some different thoughts in mind.  For those who do not know, Daveid sent me a top in the mail just before the Miamisburg top fest.  I was able to share it with the participants and also use it in the children's sermon the next Sunday.  And that is because it not only has beautiful string colors in it, but it also has some very detailed praying hands on one side!!!

Because of those praying hands, I can leave the top on my desk as part of the room decor!!!  Of course, this means it is very convenient for me to give it a toss now and then.  I have to admit, I was not throwing tops very much the last couple of years but I have noticed that ever since Daveid's praying hands creation arrived, I have been throwing more and enjoying the whirled much better.

Thanks Mr. D for many things spinning related!!!

When Ta0 mentioned that traditional koma are made by wrapping kimono cloth scraps around a spindle I though of Daveid's string tops.  I wonder what they used for glue?
