I arrived home from Miamisburg (and other visiting) today.  In my mailbox I found my newly earned 16 patch! :) Now for the stitching.

That is a great question.  Perhaps it deserves a sticky topic.

Spintastics makes some great tops. They have created award programs for yo-yos & tops.  Go to your local testing center or send in a video of yourself doing the required tricks and get a cool patch to sew onto your top bag.
The web site also has videos of each trick so you know what is expected. 
Oh, and you need to use Spintastics tops (but you should have some anyway IMHO)

Then some expert spinners have created some additional patches for doing various trick sequences. Google site:ta0.com patch for more info.
Most of the stuff is way beyond my level inspiring. A few of the sequences I worked on and have mastered one or two.

Now for the next 8
    Around the World -- now and then (do this far from your car)
    Wire Walker 2 -- 5 of 10
    Trapeze behind back -- landed today for the first time!
    Blizzard -- No problem
    Corkscrew -- No problem
    RollerCoaster to string (10) -- I am not even close
    Drumbeat (10) -- I am not even close (I can do 2 or 3)
    Lasso -- 5 of 10 (strangely I can do this one handed more often than 2 handed)
So with 6 of the 8 at least somewhat under my belt, it looks like I am close.  Not so at all! The last 2 tricks are killing me. Don't look for my 24 patch any time soon.

Congratulations Kirk! 

Breaking into regens requires lots of practice and perseverance. But once you get them you will wonder why you had trouble with them. They will open a whole new dimension to spintop play and enjoyment of the hobby. So the work is well worth it.

I was going to start filming the ta0 patch this weekend but painting some doors is taking much more time than anticipated. Anyway, it should be ready soon.
