Swirl perfection
« on: March 28, 2014, 01:09:34 PM »

Recycled plastic never looked so good!:

It is 3 inches wide and feels very substantial. The string is also made by John. It plays fantastic, of course!

John M. is the Van Gogh of spintop making!

Thanks John!!!

WOW!!!   Breathtaking!!!

That is beautiful!
Congratulations ta0!

I'm sure it will be very well played and traveled (I'm surprised you put it down long enough to take the photos!)

"John M. is the Van Gogh of spintop making!" is an understatement!  :)

The three inch size fills a gap in the array of HDPE tops between the original HDPE at about 2.5 inches and the four inch.  Like the 4 and 5 inch it is a single piece top cast in an aluminum form and then cleaned up on the wood lathe.

Beautiful Top!

Looks like it could of been a prop from "Willy Wonka" as they were getting ready to get on the boat!
