EYYC 2014
« on: February 18, 2014, 09:52:34 AM »

This year's European yoyo (spintop) championship is coming this weekend. It's in Budapest, Hungary. Who's going there? :)

Players will compete against each other with 3 throws (combos) system, best one counts.

The competition starts at 10:20 AM on Saturday 22. 2. 2014 (CET), award ceremony at 6 PM on Saturday, schedule. I don't have URL of livestream, but as soon as I get it, I'll post it here.

Here are all registred players.

Facebook event

I hope to see all of you there! ;D

Great!!!!  I see that Tyler, Jan, Jakub and yourself are registered, what should make it world class. On the list there are also two Hungarians and a Swedish, plus another Czech: I hope they do compete.

Good luck to everybody! It should be fantastic and perfect training for Worlds!  ;)

Unfortunately, Jan is not going to attend EYYC, few months ago he started doing MMA and he has some fight this weekend and it's more important than EYYC for him, it was sad message from him.  :-\

I'm looking forward to see new players too!

Three throws let all players to show their best, I hope. :)

:'(  I thought Jan was getting ready to break through to the podium.
Mixed Martian Arts is not something you can do for a long time.  I plan to play tops at 90 and beyond.

I am so looking forward to the contest videos!

Thanks a lot for the heads up, Hrosik!

I am getting that Central European Time is GMT+1, so 10:20 AM would be 3:15 AM in Texas (CST, GMT-6) . . .  Maybe I should party like when I was young Friday night and only go to sleep after the freestyles  ;D

Good luck everybody!

Oh yeah, sorry for the mistake. I know it's +1 to Greenwich time, but the text above livestream said +2 (maybe some mistake because of summer and winter time?). ;D But thanks for the correction. :)

Nice idea, give it a try. ;D

I guess I am too old to stay awake so late and too young to wake up so early, so I missed it  :(
The feed is working very well right now.  I'll try to catch the award ceremony at 11 CST.

Did you see it live, Jim? With Salvador and Ludo, perhaps?

The official photo of day 2 on the website is Petr doing his spintop freestyle combined wth a yo-yo!

The awards:

I am looking forward to the videos.

I saw that the rules say that the best throw of each player (out of the three) is used for judging.  That means one can mess up two throws and still win.  I have never played with those rules but it may result in interesting strategies.
