I tried it as a nested top (twin spin). There is a very slight difference in the internal profile between this an the earlier HP, so the sidewinder doesn't go all the way in up to the rubber band. It still works very well, as long as the sidewinder does not have tape. I found that with tape it tends to not separate.
I also played it as a hollow (conical) top. I know daveid will love how it plays. Sweet top!
Of course, I did Pencil Sharpener. Perhaps a new generation of players can try this trick
The anodizing makes the body somewhat slippery, but with Neff's tight rope it was not a problem to wind from the tip. Daveid's up and down wrap also worked well. I wished Dale had kept the groove at the very top so it could still be wrapped the conventional way.
For snap start, I think the slippery surface is compensated by the elongated shape which is very comfortable to hold between the fingers.
I weighed the top and it is lighter than previous hollow points. Using a jeweler's balance, I got:
Hollow Point 1st gen: 102 gr
Hollow Point 2nd gen: 88 gr
Hollow Point Hornet: 72 gr
Hollow Point Hornet with cap: 86 gr
The main disadvantage so far is that the anodizing is too pretty and I am afraid of marring it
