"Elvis" signed top on Ebay
« on: May 19, 2011, 07:13:10 PM »

Somebody has a Steve Brown signed top on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Wooden-Spin-Top-Signed-Steve-Brown-/250821214989

It says "made by Toy Crafter in '96" but the signature may be more recent: it seems to have 8/9 written (or is it  6/8?), what could mean August 2009, I guess. Anyway, I like the "Spin or Die!" legend.

It sold for $15. Did anybody here get it? Looking more carefully, from the orientation of the signature it had to be 6/8.  Six-out-of-eight series? June 2008? June 1998, perhaps? Had it been a pre-2000 signature I could have been interested.

No foundation, but I do have a big space (half of our large library) set up as a sort of yo-yo and spintop museum.  Mostly vintage pieces.....It has more yo-yos than tops (4000+ yo-yos, 400 + tops...)  Alan, Mark H. and Steve B. have all visited, you should too!
