Throwing a SideEffect.
« on: January 14, 2011, 11:23:41 PM »

I received my new SideEffect Top a few weeks ago. The workmanship and the quality are Great.  However after throwing this top, I have found that I have better luck when I throw the top a little upward and parallel to the ground. I also try and keep my throwing hand and the poker chip below the top on the throw. That upward throw makes the top come back almost vertical to my hand.  ( Has anybody else experienced this? )

I have also used my QS string (a little thicker) and seem to have a little better control of the top.  Keep in mind however that "I am new at this and still trying to learn"

Patiently waiting for the next Great Creation from Strummol8

Sounds good!
A high arching boomerang is pretty, no problem with that.
Yes, thicker strings many times give better control of the top on the throw.
You are making good progress.
