Here is another "cuerdas" video by Salvador (#11!)  Corbatines was invented as a regeneration trick by Gustavo Castro. He was inspired by a diabolo trick that looks similar (but I don't think maintains the spin).  "Corbata" in Spanish means neck tie.

The opening message about the Gulf of Mexico oil spill is a little outdated as he recorded this video over a month ago.

Enjoy!

Wow! The comparisons among top, yo-yo and diabolo versions really show the essence of this trick.

Thanks Salvador, terrific!

Besides Suns and Corbatines, what are some other tricks common between tops and diabolo?

(I found this later: http://www.diabolotricks.com/Alphaone.htm )

I can think of trapeze, wire walker is similar to elevator in diabolo and obviously high throws, but that might not count.

I can bet that you will repeat that phrase for a third time, Chris! what do do you think, ta0?  ;)
Just wait a little, Chris!
mmm..not...I believe that corbatines are much more difficult than huitzimes....it´s a question of perspective....

Well, this trick was born by triyng to do sth similar to diabolo..
hey, ta0, you are right, doing it with diabolo, you can´t regenerate!
A lot of tricks are familiarized among top, diabolo and yoyo, even with the giroscopio...
An example, the toboganes.

Trapecio is the king of the spinning top tricks!
More than the wirewalker, the most similar to elevator from diabolo, is the teleferique.

Hey, Rusty, you are from norwaygian man!
The vikings arrived here (better said, Canada) around year 1000 a. C.
It´s nice to have here a nordic spin top player.!

Well I do almost every other kind of juggling/skill toy so I thought it was time to start with spin tops too.
