Thanks for the update Jim, I'm glad to hear they've arrived safely. When they return, I'm hoping to hear some stories that don't make it to the forum. >:D
The top would have had a colors of France theme but I realized too late that my blue tape had expired.
Have fun!

Jim is the best! Have fun waxyaxle but don't drop your top in the fountain ::) :-[ !

That is sooo cool that you met up with Waxy Axle. You know, his oldest daughter threw at our Miamisburg festival and did a fine job! Did she tell you how much she loves tops, too?

Very nice postcard find, Jim.
Waxyaxle's beautiful family seems to be having a great time. And not doubt they are adding a different flavor to their Parisian vacation. I confess it gave me some longing for Paris . . .

Hey everybody,
i been exhausted and really busy since our return but I wanted to add a couple of things to this.
First, if you didn't already know it, Jim is awesome. He is a true Parisian and a wonderful ambassador for the city and top spinning. I'm serious! Don't ever miss the chance to meet him. Relax, throw some tops and hear some great stories. i got to hang out with Jim a few times while in Paris. First we just got to walk around the city and see a few things. Then we got to throw some tops.

Anybody that lets me throw their Watts top over concrete is a true player!
Tomorrow I'll share my trip to Jim's workshop.

A question for Johnm:
What do think could be in this box?
-
Hmmm, what fits in a box? Curiosity, wonder, anticipation, suspense, imagination, dreams, dirty laundry? ??? ::) :)
Welcome back! I'm looking forward to hearing some great stories soon.
-
A top?! ??? ;D
-
Apparently something trying to beat it's way out. ;D

Amazement fits in a box!
WaxyAxle stopped in to make a special delivery of the mystery box from France and share a few stories of his time spent with Jim. It was great fun for me to hear about the fun they had and about Jim's work shop. And as a super bonus for me, I have received from Jim one of his fantastic custom made wooden spintops (I'm impressed with the performance of the costume jewelery spike tip--it is a great step up from pop rivets for an off-the-shelf item used as a top tip), one of Philippe's true finger spinners (I really like seeing the balancing holes--he is a real master), a length of Jim's custom made spintop string in candy cane colors, and a metal spun Neptuno top from Trompos Space. That's a lot of fun packed in a small space, thank you very much Jim, these spintop treats are all wonderful. I didn't think it was possible but now I'm looking forward to your visit to the US with even more excitement.
