That list of names for a spinning top in Spain is from the excellent www.peonza.es by Marcelino Sampayo ("peonza" in this forum) y Mercedes Pena:
https://sites.google.com/site/elmundodelaspeonzas/nombres/espana
They also have names from other parts of the world.

My favorite is the Croatian "zvrk".

Wonder if Eastern Europeans ever regret selling all their vowels to the French?

French: vowel hoarders!  ;D

Yes, zvrk sounds like the noise a top can make when thrown.

Of course, India, with 300 to 400 languages, has many names. My favorite because of how it sounds is Pambaram (in Tamil and also in Malayalam)

I discovered their dirty little secret: In Croatian, "r" isn't just a consonant. It has a built-in stealth vowel. Which lets the Croatian "r" function kinda like the "or" in the English "work", the "ear" in "heard", the "ur" in "fur", or the "ir" in "irk".

So an English speaker who prefers her vowels out in the open can take "zvrk" as shorthand for "zvirk".

I remember writing down the name of a Czech player and he corrected me that his first name was not spelled Peter but Petr.

...
Germany   Dilldop Germany   Kreisel
...
Switzerland  Spielbreisel, Pfurri
...

I bever heard the word "Dilldop" before. But now that I look it up it seems to be the word in the dialect of Cologne for top.

In Switzerland it should be "Spielkreisel" for the German speaking people, but there you should also have the French and the Italian names for top since tthose are also official languages used in Switzerland.
There is actually another official language in Switzerland "Rätoromanisch" or "Romanisch" it is called in German, but I could not find the word for top in that language yet.
