I have to confess that although I have a similar koma as Satoshi, I cannot start it like he did, with a flick plus swing in the hand (I have to use a larger diameter koma than that).
Satoshi's performance gets even more interesting on the 90 second performance  :-X

I believe Kota is just 9 years old. Will he be the new Kanta in 6 years? His 90 second routine will be different than his 45 second one:

Hey, Ortwin, is that a Taco al Pastor Trompo on your signature?

Glad you are  asking !
Many of you people have all those patches in their signature. They remind me often of the Turkish Döner Kebab you find in lots of places in Germany. "Taco al Pastor" seems to be the Mexican version of that  with pork I understand now upon searching the net for "Taco al Pastor".So I just created and awarded myself my own patch. Oh well, I think I can take it down again soon, it just takes up too much screen space.
Hopefully  nobody feels offended, it was only meant as a harmless joke.

Yes, it's cooked the same way as the kebab on a rotating vertical skewer from where the meat is sliced off, leaving a shape reminiscent of a peg top. The nice thing is that in Mexico the meat on the skewer is specifically called "Trompo". Or maybe not so nice, as Instagram feeds me a lot of meat trompos mixed with the spintop videos!  ::)

I couldn't watch the award ceremony live, but I just saw the recording.
Congratulations to the winners!

1- Kanta
2- Zero
3- Okada Kibou

Well deserved! Kanta was spectacular and perfect. He continues to blow my mind. Zero always pushing the envelope with crazy tricks. Okada did the best Chonkakegoma routine I have seen so far.

The event was not just the award ceremony but the final judging. The three "clicker" judges actually scored the number of tricks of each of the finalist routines live.  You can even kind of follow their clicking during the routines (they had a second clicker, I guess for negative points but I need to verify that.) This was added to what the other judges (including me) had scored in the other more subjective criteria. Before announcing the winners they showed little clips from every entry.

The sponsors and prize donors were given plenty of credit during the ceremony. They should be happy.

The whole contest was incredibly well planned and prepared. My hats off to the JTTF and specially to Jun who seems to be the driving force behind it. Fantastic job!

Thank you all and your comment for our contest.

First of all, we JTTF held this contest for the koma player who would like to do freestyle in Japan.

In April 2021, we started discussing the whole contest. Who were the best judges? What are the best rules?

Huge thanks for the competitors, judges, sponsors, prize donors and all people watching our contest.

JTTF has planned to hold new event in March. This new event is not 90seconds but 9seconds.
This will be held on Instagram.

Satoshi with a unique performance again:

I think cigar boxes and tops combo is a first. I would like to know what the sign behind the boxes says and also what the story of the frogs is.

Nobu or his dad, who is better?  >:D You are the judge:

Something unusual is that the three clicker judges, Jun, Tokku and Naonari, had demo freestyle on the award ceremony. I guess it was  to prove that they are competent players and therefore qualified judges.
By the way, I'm going to copy Naonari's trick at 1:36:00 where he has a koma spinning on his hand, with what it appears to be a ring, but it's in fact a toroflux toy that then opens up surrounding the koma. I also like how Jun starts the second part of his freestyle with a snap start of his koma (1:38:15) and goes into combos with some regeneration, a more western spintop type of play.

Teccho looks very young and I'm sure we will see much more of him in the future:
