So, I am finally home. Tired and processing these last few days.
I had such a great time with everyone. The cork screw challenge was a learning experience for me. I never tried more than 3 to 5 wraps.
The best trick contest was great. We didn't end up voting but some great tricks were presented. This was to get ideas circulating. I hope we have some video to post of this event for everyone to see. Chris and I talked about some potential ideas for tricks which was fun. It is exciting to get new ideas out there.
I am so happy the ladder competition happened. My kids went first and hit the tricks they knew. Everyone was fantastic with them.
I have to say "thank you" to all the top family that helped me watch my kids during this event. They loved Jim Neff's trunks of tricks. Mike sent them home with tons of tops. I have to thank Beau's mom for helping locate Felix when he ran off to the video game area. Right before we made our way back stage for the final, I got the news " No one can find Felix". They almost made an announcement over the PA. Good thing he is predictable.
The battle was fantastic although I did terrible. Both my kids had better scores than me
Another kid on the sidelines saw my kids battling and started practicing throwing tops. He said maybe next time he could participate.
I don't have video of the finals, so I can't comment on my performance. Eli did fantastic. I really want to watch the finals video, but none are uploaded yet.
One thing I will say is that we had a full house for the top finals. In Iceland, most people walked out once they announced it was time for the top finals. The energy was great in Cleveland, and I felt the audience getting into it. I talked to a few people, and they commented they didn't know tops could do that. I think we all felt a great energy at this event. Marco and ta0 commented they felt it as well.
I met some fantastic people at the event, and I hope we created a few more top players.
Jim, as far as the jacket, I can't say much. They will be sending it in the coming weeks. It will be a great prop to use when I do my school presentations.
