It matches very well Kipo. Nicely done!

It used to be common for kids to customize wooden tops to make them their own. It makes the top much more valuable to you.

Today I finished painting this beautiful top.
Once got it from a flea market. But it was unused, and a bit lonely on my display shelf.
I thought about giving it some love!

Now I just need to cut some string. And trying to find the right length.
Then it's time for a spin  :D!

Almost forgot to post my latest painted tops.
These were standing on my display shelf, and needed a bit color!
Here is the result.
From left to right : bee, wasp and bumblebee.
It's very difficult to paint lines on a round object...

That little bee is the most speedy of them all  :)
I call her/him Mighty Bee  ;D I keep this one with me in my bag.
Together with the Kipo Spin top and Trompos space neptuno (my favorite tops.  I have something with wooden tops...)
Always have some tops with me, where ever I go.

I practiced alot today. I had a great time.
Have a great day everyone!

Slick tops!  8) If you have access to a slow drill, you can attach the the top by its tip and paint the stripes while it's spinning. They'll look perfect that way.  8)

It's very difficult to paint lines on a round object...
The trick is to spin the top and keep the brush still.

Hello folks,
I painted another top. One battle top was once painted, but the paint did not stick to the top...
My bad, it was the wrong paint! Used for walls, not for wood.. Maybe it was out of date too.
So I got everything off that top.  Now it's a purple top  :)

The other one I painted white first, then added colors later.
I decided to paint the top with the Belgian colors. I added a high gloss spray varnish, so it's protected from dings.
It's a battle top, a bit heavier than Black Chaos. But I'm sure I can boomerang it!

I'm currently practicing with my battle tops. Target practice is going great  :D.

My uncle gave me the tip to make a 'spray booth' out of a box.
My top is hanging on a string, with a screw into the top. It can hang freely, so I can spray it.
This time however, I used acrylic paint. I only used spray varnish to finish it.
