The stream worked fine...!?

I watched it live. Great job to all who competed. I was looking for Jorge...

Too bad it's not still up. I searched "world yoyo contest 2017 day 2" on YT to watch the feeds, because I couldn't control them on my tablet from the embedded vids. It just kept automatically starting the next in line. I had left it on after the 1a Semis, and first it went to some Mountain Dew challenge with audio only. Then came the Spintops.

Now the Mountain Dew thing is up with video, but I can't find the Spintops...  :'( I would have downloaded it if I'd known.

Also, the results aren't posted on the WYYC website. What were the places?

Mike, I was really enjoying your routine, and it sounded like the crowd was too. Too bad about that knot. Did you only have the one string?

Edit: I think I know why they took it down. That idiot (He made an idiotic choice, anyway.) "Krom" and his Kendama demo song were right in the middle of that segment.  :o Hopefully they'll edit it, and get it back up. You gotta watch those Kendama people!!!  ;D Or, at least approve their song choice...

The award ceremony is tonight, Saturday, at about 6:30 PM.

Don't forget to watch the over 40 where José and Dale participated. Dale is also a finalist in the Mountain Dew Challenge  ;D

Look out!!!  My wife is on a roll and has kidnapped me for some adventures.  We are at a place the map calls Byggdasafnid in northern Iceland.  The road sign says it is "Reykjaskoli".  Maybe that first name is something about a museum as another sign says "shark-fishing exhibition".  Anyway, I am going to try to post from here, as an experiment!

Impressive performances by all! Best of luck in the judging.

What kind of top was that green and red one used by the Japanese contestant? Looked like a cross between a regular throwing top and a diabolo to me.

The Mountain Dew cup is going on and on.  Time for the awards, finally.

Myk_Myk, yes, like a dummy I just took one string on stage....and it was a dirty one.  I grabbed the clean one I prepared for the competition on the way on to stage and noticed my finger knot was coming apart.  Sadly, no time to fix it.  Rats

Wow. Impressive performances by all. A lot of Ooooing and Ahhhing was going on here as I watched. The Japanese performer was using a Chinese Kongzhu or monabolo as its called in The US. Interestingly, he did not use it with hand sticks as it is normally done.

The award ceremony went well.  jmadrigal with the bronze.  Daniel from the Czech Republic with the silver and his brother Jakub took the gold.  Tom got an award for winning the ladder and everyone got a nice medal that spins!!!  On the way off stage everyone got a yoyo factory yoyo.  It was a nice award ceremony for the top spinners.
